Facebook ads down AGAIN?!? Hey Funnel Hacker, Ever have a traffic platform go down for the day? With Facebook and Instagram crashing last week, it reminded a lot of entrepreneurs why you DON'T rely on them for traffic. They're amazing for getting attention and building an audience. But when it comes to control -- the #1 thing you need in your business… Crashing for the day, randomly banning accounts, and algorithms changing every month make it really, really hard to stay sane while you're trying to grow your business. That's why you need to OWN YOUR TRAFFIC. You can use platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc. to find the traffic you need but, at the end of the day, you need to be moving that audience away from those platforms. You need to capture them onto your email list so you know that, even if something does happen, you can always stay in touch with them. Nothing is worse than coming up with a great piece of content, or scheduling out a new piece of content, only to realize the platform you were posting it to went down for the day. Or, worse, randomly banned your account. This is a topic I cover in the Traffic Secrets book -- traffic you control. Because there's 3 types of traffic. There's traffic you earn or generate through platforms like Facebook and Instagram -- organic. ​ There's traffic you control or buy through things like YouTube and TikTok -- paid. ​ Then there's traffic you own -- your email list. Which one do you think can help you most reliably grow your business? Let's say you needed to come up with $10,000 for a business or personal expense. If you're relying on Facebook and Instagram, you will either need to pray to the algorithms that they share your highly-optimized content with the right people… …and then those people see your post and decide to take action. Or you're going to need to spend money to make money by buying ad space and hoping you can drive enough traffic to turn a $10,000 ROI. But with your own list… You can send an email out to your list of 10,000 people with a $100 offer and if ONLY 1% of those people take you up on the offer… you've generated the $10,000 you need. And you've done it without worrying about algorithms, traffic quality, or having a platform go down while you're in the middle of a big launch. This is why I fell in love with email and why I'll always make it the highest priority in any business that I grow -- or that I help other people grow. It's the traffic source that opens doors to everything you want in your business. From consistency and reliable growth. To new promotional opportunities. Sponsorships. Partnerships. Product launches. Building relationships. Nurturing relationships. All roads lead to email -- at least, if you want to build a long-term thriving business. And it's never been easier to do than it is today.
