We asked Robby for his insight on earning income by promoting other people's products. Here's his advice:
Q - Your Two Comma Club 'C' Award was earned for generating over $25 Million through your Commission Hero funnel. What is Commission Hero?
A - Commission Hero is our flagship online education program that teaches people how to start an online business through affiliate marketing. We currently have over 17,000 students in Commission Hero and those students have earned over $150,000,000 in online sales through our system.
Q- Should someone who is just starting out in online business focus on affiliate marketing to generate income, or create their own products and offers?
A - I personally think affiliate marketing is the best way to get started online. With affiliate marketing you don't need to create your own product, you can instantly start promoting other people's proven products for a commission.
You don't have to worry about inventory, customer service and it also allows you to be nimble in that if the offer you're promoting stops selling, you can pivot to another one very quickly. Affiliate marketing is the purest form of an online business where you can focus on promoting a product, earning a commission and doing it from anywhere in the world.
Q- Did you start with your own products? Or did you initially get experience selling other people's offers as an affiliate?
A- I initially started with my own product, but then I quickly realized that I should be more focused on learning how to run paid ads and only focus on that. By promoting someone else's program, I cut my learning curve in half because I didn't have to come up with the product, I just had to focus on the advertising. That was a game-changer for me.
Q- With so many affiliate opportunities available to online marketers, how do you decide which offers to promote? What are some of the main factors you'd personally look for in a great affiliate offer?
A - I look for 3 main things when promoting an offer. The first thing is that it needs to be an offer that is a popular product. I'm not trying to promote an obscure offer, I want to promote one that I know sells.
The second thing is that it needs to be in a large category or niche. For me I love health, wealth or relationship niches as there are hundreds of millions of people interested in each category. Also the bigger the category, the more fresh offers are created for you to promote.
The final thing is that I need to promote an offer that pays me $100 or more per sale. That allows me to have great margins when running ads on Facebook for those products
Q- What's the BEST way to use ClickFunnels as an affiliate?

A - Simple…the thing that made our offer successful is we teach something that actually works. When you have a product, the best way to make it successful is to get your students results. When you do that everything else takes care of itself.
Q - If you had 1 tip for someone brand new to earning commissions, what would you share with them to set them up for success as an affiliate?
A - Focus on one method for being an affiliate. For me it was running Facebook ads. By focusing on one thing and mastering it, you'll get further along than trying to learn everything.
